Spring Fayre

What a way to start the term! The Spring Fayre was held with the aim of raising money for the Haematology and Oncology Department of the Children's Hospital. Our purpose was to help those families who have financial difficulties while their children are suffering. At the Fayre we had games for our children to play. There were lots of crafts to buy, many of them made by the children themselves and staff. There was food to buy, cakes to decorate, and songs to sing in the Karaoke. From the moment the doors opened until much later the place was buzzing with activities and voices. The Ministry of Education attended and also two representatives of the hospital. The raffle at the end of the evening was a great success, with aeroplane tickets for Istanbul, flower boxes, cakes and vouchers for a Health Spa to be won. The exact amount of money raised will be announced soon. Representatives from both schools will visit the hospital and hand over the much-needed cash. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way; whether that be by creating something, or by buying something, or just by coming and playing the many games we had. It just goes to show that amazing things can be done when we work together as a community. Well done!
